VIPP blows me away! They provide everything from furniture, dishes and an entire pre-fabricated house that they will ship everywhere in the world at your request! I will leave the house for a later post and let’s just enjoy this amazing modern kitchen for now… Christmas decorations included.
VIPP sees the world in black and white and a whole lot of shades of grey, but oh, does it look wonderful! I love the simplicity of the elements and how beautifully crafted they are. Everything looks perfectly integrated, from the shelves to the ceramics on the shelves to the garbage bins.
It seems that the company has dedicated a lot of time in providing a polished finish to their products. A lot of thought has gone into defining all the elements and into finding that perfect balance between functional and fashionable. This is what smart design is to me. When you see a picture like the one below and you just sigh and acknowledge simplicity, boldness, rawness… and that beautiful concrete floor!
“We asked ourselves ‘what would a chef value?’ A solid grip when opening drawers and turning the gas button. A kitchen raised on legs for easy access to clean the floor. A steel table top that can handle hot pots and pans.” — VIPP
“The Vipp kitchen is based on everything we’ve learned about metalwork in over 75 years.” — VIPP
The vision that drives the company is raw and inspiring:
“Even though we are working with a completely different material, the outcome carries the same DNA as when we process steel and aluminium – a product stripped to the bone with an almost industrial and minimalistic look and feel where material and processing define the design.”
— MORTEN BO JENSEN, CHIEF DESIGNER IN VIPP
The VIPP products are, as you might have guessed, shamefully expensive so I have already come to terms with the idea that I will never ever own any of them. But this blog is not about product placement or advertising, it’s about inspiration and stories of people that have achieved excellence in their endeavor of creating the very best possible. It’s about seeking the great that have made a purpose out of redefining the normal and constantly improving it.
I look at this breathtaking kitchen and I see incredible detailing of the grips on the drawers and how the garbage bin is now something to show off! I love how functional this kitchen is, yet so modern and timeless. I see superb craftsmanship and dedication and I get inspired to create the same in whatever my field may be. Creating value is by all means not easy, but it is rewarding and it should be our driving force. People shouldn’t be allowed to bitch about anything unless they have created pure value on their own, no matter how big or small.
