When in Frankfurt… definitely eat at Zarges!
We just wanted to eat a good burger while in Frankfurt one evening and picked this place: restaurant Zarges. We didn’t really see any photos before coming here, only the menu which reassured us that they were serving burgers!
When we entered and saw this lavish interior I thought we were in the wrong place, although the name and the address were correct. Just take a look how interesting this place is decorated! It transports you to a different world.
After hopping from a coffee shop to the other, as we often do when we are travelling, this restaurant was an unexpected but pleasant change of scenery. I’ve been getting used to the modern and minimalist interiors that are so common these days that I forgot the elegance and beauty of massive wood furniture and intricate designs, overlaying textures and elegant tableware.
Oddly enough, we did have the burger! And it was remarkable, both the taste and the serving. I regret now not taking a few pictures while we were there, but I’m still not comfortable taking my camera out and photographing the table and food as people are dining next to me. I need to work on this 🙂
I felt inspired by the baroque style of this restaurant and will definitely incorporate this style in our future home. I think it works best with the study or the dressing room. Just imagine the wood panels on the walls, book shelves as high as the ceiling and a baroque-inspired armchair to do your reading or writing. Exquisite! Or getting ready for a new day in a “Sex and the City” inspired dressing room with a tête-à-tête sofa or a chaise lounge. To die for!
What do you think? Where would you add a baroque inspired item?
